This policy explains what information SafeToHop (“we”, “us”) collects when you use safetohop.com, how it's used and the choices you have.
Links you check
The link checker runs entirely in your web browser. Links you paste are not sent to our servers, not opened by us and not shared with anyone. Your most recent scans are kept in your browser's local storage on your own device so you can see them again. You can delete them at any time with the “Clear history” button or by clearing your browser's site data.
Information stored on your device
- Recent scans (up to eight links, their scores and the time you checked them).
- Your light or dark theme choice.
This information stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners are third-party vendors that use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.

Other third-party services
- Google Fonts supplies the site's fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers. Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
- Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply and keep a record of the conversation. We delete correspondence we no longer need.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, and to object to or limit how it's used. We don't sell personal information. Because links are checked on your device, we usually hold nothing about you. To make a request, email hello@safetohop.com.
Children
SafeToHop isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
